Supporting Our Schools: A Community Commitment

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's crucial to remember the importance of education. It's not just about the here and now; it's about investing in our community's future. Bill Baumann, a retired resident living on a fixed income, recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming Ridgefield school bond propositions, and his words hit home.

Baumann's letter to the editor speaks volumes about the power of coming together for a common cause. He talks about his childhood in a small Wisconsin town where the community made a bold move to invest in education by building new schools. Despite tough times, they believed in giving their kids a chance at a better future.

His story strikes a chord, showing how those investments paid off. He got to attend new schools that not only gave him a good education but also showed that his community cared.

Now, Baumann sees a similar opportunity in Ridgefield. Propositions 10 and 11 offer a chance to improve our schools and give our students the tools they need to succeed.

So, as we approach the April 23rd vote, let's take Baumann's words to heart. Let's honor the past by investing in our future. Please vote yes on Propositions 10 and 11 to support Ridgefield schools.

Quoted from Bill Baumann's letter to the editor:

"I’m a retired person living on a fixed income. I support both bond propositions, 10 and 11, for Ridgefield schools.

When I was a kid growing up in a small town in Wisconsin, I benefited from the wisdom of the local voters who approved building new schools. I attended a brand-new elementary school and a brand-new middle school.

Mind you, 97% of the people living in my town were of German descent. Most of them had just come through the Great Depression and World War II. They were not known for extravagant spending on anything. But they believed in education and making sure that the kids in our town had a fair crack at a good future. I am in their debt. I got a good education because of their forward thinking. I now do the same for the kids in Ridgefield.

Please vote yes for Ridgefield schools."

Supporting these bond propositions is not just an investment in buildings; it's an investment in the potential and promise of Ridgefield's youth. By voting yes on Propositions 10 and 11, residents can demonstrate their commitment to providing students with the tools they need to succeed, just as previous generations did for Mr. Baumann and countless others.

So, as the April 23rd voting deadline approaches, let us heed this call to action. Let us honor the legacy of those who came before us by ensuring that Ridgefield remains a community that values education and invests in its future. Please vote yes on Propositions 10 and 11 and join us in investing in the future of Ridgefield.
